Amp indicator light

Post by Dumbleseeker »

I am building an amp and would like to put a blue indicator light in but I am having trouble locating one. I need one that has a flat lens like the ones on the Bludotone amps. Any suggestions?

ummm, My amps don't have a flat lens, it's a blue LED t-1 3/4 size and the Phillmore electronics Chrome LED holder.

Mouser Electronics carries the LED's, I use p/n630-hlmp-cb15-p0000

the holders I usually buy online at radioshack, but lots of places sell them.

Mouser has a really nice LED holder that is identical to the RS part but cheaper.

Cheaper is gooder. PN 351-1001

Ummm, they are only cheaper if you buy 100, if you buy 1 they are $.30 more, and if you buy 100 from RS they are like $1 ea.

Brandon I stand corrected. The RS is part is $1.49 for 2 of them, the mouser is 1.26 ea at 10 to 100.

Need to look for another option, just realized neither is RoHS compliant.

Doesn't look like it, normally they are noted if that is the case, these specifically say No on the mouser site.

Check the "partspipe" chinese Ebay dude. I bought like a 1000 of the smaller chrome LED holders for a ridiculously low price - I think it was less than $10

Best price I saw was $12 for 100 with $12 shipping. No RoHS statements / documents so I would not go that route.

Would rather spend a little more and not have to worry about very expensive imperial entanglements.

BTW, whats happening on you side of town :).

I have a feeling that partspipe guy would manufacture any paperwork you wanted

I'm all excited about making it on both sides of an album (CD) cover.

Very cool, I just delivered one to Nick Moroch of the David Sanborn band (and studio cat to everyone). It almost made on last weekends Second Cup cafe, but logistically it did not work out so he used a backline rental (VOX AC30)... bummer.
