Edit: Oh, never mind.  I feel like a moron.  One of the caps is backwards.  That will do it every time.

It's wired wrong. The positive side of the lower cap goes to the ground; i.e. one end of the HT winding, and the can goes to the neg terminal; i.e. the lower pair of diodes. The can side of the upper cap goes to ground.

No, only the diodes. They're cheap. I'm working through a bag I got from Mouser a while ago. I think, including solder and the power to melt it, maybe I wasted $0.50. Tranny is still good.Structo wrote:Did you let the magic smoke out?

Thanks. I posted the picture because I was sure there was something I just didn't see. I figured it out while I was out walking the dog.
