Q: 100K from PI "cap" to PI "resistor" ?

Post by fzfwyv »

OK, I've asked the question in my super-techincal jargon.

For example in a Matchless Lightning PI there is a 100K resistor from the .01 cap in the PI to the 47k resistor in the PI. In the 18 watt, this 100k resistor is not there.

In the Liverpool it is not there either. Just wondering what this 100k resistor does? Does it limit some sort of signal? Is it a good idea to put it on a switch and would it act like a boost?

Thanks for the enlightnement.

It's just a voltage divider (in combination with the series 220k). Opening it will increase the gain, but it may not sound better that way (Sampson or whoever would not have put extra components in there if it sounded OK without.)
