Mounting bolt sizes
I have yet to drill holes in my chassis for mounting bolts. This wouldn't be a big problem except that I've only got 1/4-5/16" lip to work with. I wanted to use t nuts but I haven't been able to find any small enough. I have found rivet nuts that would probably do the trick but I'm not sure what I can get away with for bolts for my 100W ODS. Thoughts?

Auto Zone sells "u" nuts, sometimes called speed nuts in their blister pack racks.

Right, I've seen those at hardware stores. Those would be OK I guess, but I haven't found any that wouldn't stick way out and I want something that'd be more secureheisthl wrote:Auto Zone sells "u" nuts, sometimes called speed nuts in their blister pack racks.
My main concern though is how small I can go with the bolts. Like can I get away with 8-32?
Re: Mounting bolt sizes
Fender Chassis straps use 8-32 bolts/nuts. Which is also another option, to use a long bolt all the way through with a nut on the bottom.benoit wrote: My main concern though is how small I can go with the bolts. Like can I get away with 8-32?

This is the best option for your chassis based on the pics you've shown.heisthl wrote:Fender Chassis straps use 8-32 bolts/nuts.
