Let's See your Bench

Post by selloutrr »

post a pick of your bench / room
lets see how it's laid out

I'm trying to get ideas for my layout what works and what doesn't
what do you like and what would you do differently?
how much work space is really enough work space?

There's a pretty long thread somewhere in the old posts, I think maybe in garage talk but could be tech discussion.

I'd show it to you if I could see it myself

It's currently buried under boxes of speakers, tubes, and transformers, plus a whole mess of other whatnot.

No no no no, I'd be in heaven with what you have. I'm talking 2.5x5' of space.

In response to the OP (and I tried to post these links last night but my internet connection was garbage):

Some good pics in there to get you started, hopefully people post some new ones as well.

Mine is a portable toolbox and a small plastic tub. I just take them wherever I happen to be working, generally at a computer desk.

I build mostly effects, so the parts are small.

I'm the first to admit the family is a distraction but if you get rid of them who's going to bring you a latte when your burning the midnight oil? I guess mine is just cool. I bought her a house and she gave me the 3 car garage! then she requested I keep my amps and guitars in the the office, not the garage so she might be able to see from time to time. That's what I call AWESOME!

I've been cleaning off my benches this evening and am still at it. It's amazing how much crap piles up during a few weeks of remodeling  This is like the 20th time I've cleaned and rearrange my garage in the past 2 years since we started this fiasco.

Anyway, I get my garage space, plus I get my own room with attached bathroom for a home office!! I also get to design the whole layout around my amps and guitars.

OK, as geeky as all that is, I have to say that's damn cool!

And I thought I was hip in covering my walls with blue suede and painting a door blue! LOL

I'm still building an amp bench...right now, my computer desk is going to have to do. Brianne and I just moved into this house a couple months ago, and have been painting and doing minor construction. I too have my "guitar room"/office with it's own bathroom and I get the whole back wall of the garage. I'm hoping to start making head cabs in the next few months!
