My super amp is a 6G4 layout but has the 6G4A resistors ( which are different in the 6G4 circuit ) in the amp. I am starting to work on the amp with electrolytics. Question is. It seems that Fender was varying these amps at each interval as bluzmike has the next serial number and there are variations from one amp to the next. I take it that I should stick with the found values in this amp as they seem to be all original components.

Re: 6G4A resistors
if the amp has......"it"....... keep the values you find..... you can go as far as
1%.....but if you feel youve heard better go with that

Re: 6G4A resistors
Resistors are cheap.... try both what's there, and try what's in the schemo and see what you like.

And, don't forget that if the amp seems to have "the" tone you like right now, replacing old parts with new parts may change the characteristics of the amp since the old parts undoubtedly have drifted in value over time.
Perhaps the best way would be to measure what's in there despite what the color codes say and replace them with those values.
New caps may change things as well, may stiffen the feel of the amp.
All IMHO.
