Quick D'Lite question

I have been helping a guy with his D'Lite amp, and the specs have the transformer rated at 200mA. The output transformer seems to fit the description on the web site

I have noticed that the Brown Note site says there power transformer is rated at 300mA and their output transformer is larger.

Can anyone tell from experience the difference in tone between the old transformer set and the new transformer set?

The above mentioned amp sounds pretty good by the way.

The BrownNote PT is a beefed up Vibrolux style and I think 300mA is correct for that unit. I have done a build with theirs and 2 others with an inexpensive 200mA and 180mA, respectively. Didn't notice a lot of difference there, but I never tried EL34 tubes which may require the extra amperage. The smaller PTs worked fine with 6V6 & 6L6/5881 tubes. The output tranny makes a bigger difference IMHO. The BrownNote OT was very a nice sounding unit in my first build - which may be different than what they are using now. It may be worth the dough to splurge there. Is this build from their kit - or did you source the parts? You may just want to email Moss at BrownNote. He is extremely helpful and responsive. Hope this helps.

I built a D'Lite 44 last winter and it cam with the international PT.
Moss told me it was a 300ma tranny.

Thanks for the replies.

The output transformers in the build I saw was larger than an 18 watt output transformer, but much smaller than the output transformer in my 6G7a 40 watt Bandmaster and 50 watt Mesa Boogie SOB. It is also significantly smaller than my Express output transformer.

The new power transformer is rated at about the same as an Express power transformer, but the transformer that I saw isn't nearly as big as my Express transformer.

Does this description provide enough basic to evaluate if this guy has the old series of transformers or the newer ones?
