Most of the pictures I have seen look like he was using regular silicone glue. I got some black and blue RTV (room temp. vulcanizing) silicone glue at the hardware store.ayan wrote: I have to ask, what did you use for the blue and black goo sticky stuff? Love the looks!

From what I could tell, I think these are the reasons he used the glue:
1) The big radial 300uf caps are held on the board by the glue
2) Almost all the smaller axial electrolytics are glued to perhaps keep strain off the leads. Less chance of mechanical failure?
3) It is opaque, so it can conceal where needed.
I think he used SILICONE rather than tar, 'construction adhesive' or epoxy because:
1) The silicone is a dielectric
2) Silicone can be easily cut with a knife and components can be dug out and changed if needed.
In terms of any 'sonic' changes with the silicone, well, AIR is a better dielectric than silicone, so I really think added mechanical strength and secrecy are the real benefits.
Any other thoughts on it?
