Layout matters with Wrecks, so if you're trying to cram this into a small chassis, it may not work very well.

SE amps are inefficient and distort easily. They also have a lot of even order harmonics that are cancelled in a PP amp, which makes the tone "warmer". I have a SE/PP Pot on some of my Wrecks, and it sounds great in full SE. Distorts really early and has feedback for days. Bonus to have every thing in between SE and PP.

That SE/PP pot sounds fascinating to me. I hadn't heard of that before, but I am a bit of a noob. Was that difficult to do?

It's quite easy on actually.

You can pull it from the Vajra schematic posted over on the 18watt.com downloads area. This amp is a Mark Durham design and features the SE/PP pot.

If you have question about the Transformers suitability I'd shoot a note off to Nick at ceriatone. He's a pretty good bloke and I'm sure he'd tell you what it was capable of. Just a thought.

So, I decided to make this into the Allen Amps Class Act based on the Schematic that I found in the Garage Talk section. Now that I finished assembling it, click here to see my problem and help me:

Thanks!
