Another 15w Liverpool Combo

Just finished up this 15 watt Liverpool build and thought I would share some pics. This one is also a combo with 2 8ohm Sammi 300B50s for a 4 ohm load. It has the custom 10.5K OT and fixed bias. It also has the fixed bias VVR2 board installed. B+ is around 330V and goes down to about 31v. Can caps were used instead of the 6 mallorys. I took the original board layout from the Liverpool and added a couple of .1mfd caps and 1M resistors to the board to isolate the dc on the pots when running the VVR at very low voltages. I also moved the EL84 1.5k grid resistors to the board instead of the tube sockets. I have them added like the Marshall style 18w. All of the original components on the board are in their original location. The layout is perfect for adding a VVR to any Liverpool or Express where you are varying voltages in the whole amp.

The cab came from Reason. I got it uncovered and I finished all of the tolex, grill cloth and piping myself. Anthony makes some killer cabs!

Anthony at Reason just combined efforts with Obeid Khan, who used to design amps for SLM (Think Crate/Ampeg amps) Anthony and Obeid have come up with a new Killer amp line and they can be reached at Reasonamps.com. Before they had the new amp line Anthony was doing cabinets for a bunch of different boutique builders. You got me wondering now if he is still making cabs. I went with the traditional 5k with DC on it for this build. I usually go the other way on the liverpools but wanted to try it this way on this one.

I hope to get some clips of the amp before it finds its way to a new home.

Thanks! I usually build my own cabs but those combos are a PITA. I built this amp in between other builds and I really didin't have time to build the amp and cab too. Anthony hooked me up and I would highly recomend him to anyone needing a cab. The new Reason amp line is really something to hear also. Tell him Dana sent you and he will charge you double

I had to learn to get good with the Tolex because that is what I use to hide my poor carpentry skills
