Finally.... My HRM likes my Fenders
Tele clip. Bassman iron D'Lite with HRM and mid switch added. The Strat is sounding good as well. Hand don't hurt no more. Life is good.

Re: Finally.... My HRM likes my Fenders
it likes them fenders a lot, nice tone, smoove with just enough bite,by the playing on that one I'd say that hand healed up fine
Re: Finally.... My HRM likes my Fenders
Sounding great Dave!!! Nice licks!
Re: Finally.... My HRM likes my Fenders
That does sound great!
If you were to put it in a nut shell, what do you think the most significant change you made, got you "the" tone.
What speaker are you using?
I know it's a HRM now but since I don't have that I will continue to struggle.....

Thanks y'all!
The tornadoes are gone, the sun is shining, I'm off for a week, got a room full o' guitars and amps, don't need to solder no more...........
Now if I only has enough money for some gas.....

Re: Finally.... My HRM likes my Fenders
Thanks Structo. I think my Fenders were easier to mate with my non-HRM amps. With this amp, discovering that the middle pot on the HRM board was the bass was the revelation. I'm such an idiot, I was fiddling with those trimmers endlessly until I finally looked at the schematic. I was thinking left to right like the front panel.Structo wrote:That does sound great!

The mic'ed speaker is an EV 12L in a 2 x 12 cab.
**Actually there are 2 speakers mic'ed. This is my gig wet/dry setup. All effects were live in the room. My dumbleator goes out to my pedalboard and back to a Tech21 power engine. The dry amp is panned 25% right the effected amp is 25% left. No EQ or effects added to mix. The speaker in the Tech21 is a Celestion Seventy 80.
Re: Finally.... My HRM likes my Fenders
Well yes I am a Fender guy but two of my strats are Lonestar configs with a humbucker in the bridge so not classic Fender strats.
I'm pretty happy right now, maybe another couple of tweaks.
Ya right!

Re: Finally.... My HRM likes my Fenders
Is that the standard HRM circuit, i.e., 33K slope, .022uF mid and bass caps, etc.? If so, how did you set the trimmers? Sounds very much non HRM like -- which I like, BTW.stelligan wrote:Thanks Structo. I think my Fenders were easier to mate with my non-HRM amps. Yes - .022 mid & bass caps. *SNIP out brain dead 150K comment* Treble & mid trimmers at 10 and 11, bass at 2:30. I'll take gut shots of the thing and post on this thread. A useful exercise of late was to concentrate on my Strat and Tele tones. When I got them happening, the humbucker guitars were still all good. The only sniggle with this build is the disparity between the OD and Clean masters. I run the Clean master at 10 o'clock, but the OD master is barely on. The amp is VERY loud in OD.

Yes - .022 mid & bass caps. Last tweak was a 150K at the OD entrance (wasn't there before). Treble & mid trimmers at 10 and 11, bass at 2:30. I'll take gut shots of the thing and post on this thread. Disregard the 150K statement. I was thinking of the D'Lite I just tweakeddogears wrote:What do you mean btw? 150K? No low gain?? Scott - I'll post gutshots in about 20 minutes. And regarding the masters - It's just that the OD side is so much louder - the pots are in very different positions to match up when channel switching. I should add that where I am at now, I can use the OD easily without PAB and sound nice.
Re: Finally.... My HRM likes my Fenders
Love the tone on the chord work! Nice chops too...

Thanks Tonegeek. That was a live take with no mixing. You gotta love being able go from that gainy to that clean with a footswitch.....Tonegeek wrote:Love the tone on the chord work! Nice chops too...
Thanks odourboy! I have 4 Strats and a Tele that are happy they're being fondled againodourboy wrote:Damn! That sounds nice Dave!!![]()
