ok.
here they are.
the first clips i've ever recorded, so you'll forgive me of they aren't spectacular. i wasn't concentrating on playing, i was trying to showcase some of the dynamic qualities of the amp with it set one way, utilizing the guitar's pickups, volume and tone knobs.
in both clips, the signal chain is as follows:
2005 gibson R7 historic les paul goldtop, stock burstbucker pickups, tonepros bridge and tailpiece, RS electronics, strings are nickel-plated 11's.
guitar goes into the paul ruby rocket via a ten foot vintage fender cord (old grey custom shop 50's style - attenuates a little bit of the highs).
the amp is set with the bright switch down, volume all the way up, treble at zero, bass around 1.75-2 (out of 10 on the knob), cut around 5.5.
amp is set to half-power, into one speaker of my new custom 2-12. the speaker is a weber 30-watt alnico blue dog, mic'ed with a 57 off-axis, direct into cubase, no compression, eq, effects, or tweaking.
i'll record some better clips tomorrow, with different guitars and amp/speaker settings.
until then, enjoy what i think are the first rocket clips posted anywhere!
(and remember, the second clip is me messing around, kind of thinking of all the different clips i've heard through the years... around 3 minutes, i showcase some higher gain tones with the bridge pickup rolled up, as well as some hack attempts at josie and mississippi queen... my apologies!)
the first clip is on the neck pickup, showcasing the dynamics and harmonic overtones the amp has, even with the volume and tone rolled down on the guitar:

the second is switching the pickup selector at first, then some chordal stuff, and into some mid-crunch bridge rhythms, some higher gain bridge stuff, a little steely dan, some mountain... just generally shite wankery:

mo' better (!!!) clips tomorrow...
