Valve Art KT-66s are great in a JTM45-like amp I have. Made in China, but believe to Valve Art Specs.

Shuguang
I use the Shuguang made one (like the valve art) in my tweed low power twin and they work well.
A big, warm sound that breaks up nice when you want it to !

Currently, IMHO it's Saratov hands down.

I recall some consensus that one was better at the AC/DC tone and the other one better for the Beano tone. Are Shuguang and Saratov still the only ones?

Re: the best kt66?
what about JJ, the new tung-sols, or the new gold lions. I understand that the sovtek isn't really even a true kt66

The Saratov KT66 is the same one that sold as the Groove Tube KT66 HP, right? I have a pair in a tweed Superish build; I like them a lot: great clean tones, but when you push them they break up nicely.
I would like to try the Shugang; I hear they are great, too.

IIRC, the Shugs are made on the original equipment and from the original blueprints, purchased from the Brits and moved to China. If true, these are the closest to the REAL original KT66...Not to say the others can't sound good.
