Ceriatone Kit Question

Post by Brad737 »

Hi guys,

I'm very new to the whole Dumble scene. But I've heard several clips, and it seems like the Overtone Special would be a cool addition to the collection.

I have two Ceriatone amps that I really like, a TW Liverpull and an Expression. They're both awesome, but neither amp has the stock Ceriatone trannies installed. I have the "ToneSlut" set that are from Ken Fischer's original supplier. Most of the Trainwreck gurus that have heard the Ceriatone transformers say that Nik's Wreck trannies sound too much like a Marshall, not Trainwrecks.

So, I'm interested in a Ceriatone, but I'd prefer more "authentic" transformers. In the tranny upgrade thread, guys talked about Fender and Hammond iron. Which seems to be more "Dumblish"?

Lastly, I had other guys wire up my Ceriatone Wrecks. Are there any guys familiar with Dumbles on here who would wire up a kit for a newbie who's afraid of electrocuting himself?

Thanks,
Brad

Brad,

Dumble seemed to prefer Fender xformers. Many of the Fender replacements, like Mojotone or Mercury, work really well.

As for building it, it Nik won't do it for you, PM me. I'll be happy to build it for you at a reasonable price.
