I'm not sure if the mid pot should be wired as a variable resistor or as a voltage divider. #124 pictures (on the left, below) show what looks like wiring as a variable resistor to ground.
The other picture on the right (unknown serial #, 'dogydoo' picture) shows wiring as a voltage divider.
Just wondering what the most common wiring is. Did HAD forget to make the extra connection on #124, or was this intentional?
Currently I have mine wired as a variable resistor, like the second photo.
(I searched the previous #124 threads but could not find a discussion of this)

Whether you connect the input to the wiper or not, it still functions as a variable resistor. By wiring like the first photo, it ensures that you'll have 100k (250k?) to ground if the wiper contact fails. Since that's an unlikely scenario, I doubt that it matters.

The reason I was double checking my control wiring was that the mid control does not do much. But now I know it is not because of the wiring.

I think neither pic shows a voltage divider. If two of the pot legs are connected together OR any are not connected, it can not be a voltage divider. My experience/assumption is that not connecting the third pot lug is an older method of wiring a voltage divider which has evolved into the current practice of connecting it to the wiper.
