Really nice playing by Ford, but what's up with the horns so out of sync in the intro. Some of the top players of all time and they couldn't find the stabs.

LOL I was also thinking the same thing. Love how when his "solo" is over and the horns are going for it he is still killing it behind them.
I gotta say I really like his playing here.
So where would one look for more Ford playing like this?
Most of what i have heard is very blues centric and that is cool and all but man he sounds great here too...

I listened again, I was wrong about the horn stabs, the arrangement was not intended to be in sync, it's more of a counterpoint rhythm.
