This is the part I really like:
"this amps transformers are identical to the ones on the small special on ebay last week"
They're also "identical" to about 50,000 mid '60s Fenders.
But wait... those Dymo labels look eerily familiar... can this be an early Trainwreck?!!

I think that should read "this amp is identical to the pile of junk that no one was dumb enough to buy on ebay last week."CaseyJones wrote:This is the part I really like:

And the comment 'I think its a dumble cause it has a bias pot installed as well as a line out'...One has to wonder if the guy graduated 3rd grade....what a full load....
Inquiring minds want to know!

I put pics of the worst one I've ever seen in the files section, it's called the overdrive delux, and it dates at 6/11/75. There is NOTHING DUMBLE about that THING on EBAY!

Yeah, your Delux is built on a Bandmaster chassis, isn't it? That makes perfect sense, I used to be able to buy those for $50.00 to $100.00 each in working condition back in the '70s. I got dead ones for free! I feel like a dumb-ass, I thought I got good money for them when the prices started to increase. I should have buried a few in the backyard "just in case".Funkalicousgroove wrote:I put pics of the worst one I've ever seen in the files section, it's called the overdrive delux, and it dates at 6/11/75.
ANYWAY it looks like that eBay thingy is on a custom aluminum chassis. Back in the day there wouldn't have been any reason to use a custom chassis when perfectly good Fender chassis were available. That notwithstanding it's a total friggin' hack job. I could smoke a whole buncha crack, suck down a fifth of bourbon and still do a better job.
More hilarity... the dude doesn't accept "PayPall". (Two "L"s) Better line up a couple PayPallbearers.

Dude knows it's not a dumble, he's just hoping the bidder doesn't!

There was an auction ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0206265441 ) ending Mar-11-08, "winning bid $700.00".
I guess the sale didn't happen.

He took Paypal last time. I guess he's in a dispute with the last guy.

How 'bout that? I missed that one, it's not like I search "Dumble" every day.Pete wrote:There was an auction ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0206265441 ) ending Mar-11-08, "winning bid $700.00".

The honest thing to do would be to part it out, the PT is '64 and the OT is '65. The transformers are worth a few bucks, so is the cabinet. Just a few bucks and not a whole lot more than a few bucks.
A buddy of mine calls selling vintage Fender parts "holding them for ransom". That's where you'll see old Strat necks with an asking price of $13k. 'Course genuine Dumbles are up in the stratosphere price-wise. I could even see a nicely executed forgery as being worth some coin.
If garbage built by hacks was worth money I'd have been a millionaire a couple times over by now!
