DIY Airbrake...

Looking at the layout it appears on the switch pins 1-5 & 11-12 are tied together. But in the gut shots I'm not seeing that. Hate to renew this wind brake thread. But just hoping for clarification. Thanks Len

Anyone mind PMing the Airbrake schem. to me? I do the Dumble forum mostly but just realized I have most of the parts to build high powered L-pads and would like to give it a go.

I threw this together with parts from my junk bin. I had 2 honkin (100 watters I think) 8 ohm pots so I just wired them in series and in series with the hots on the in and out jacks. This would take the place of the rotary switch and one of the 25 ohm resistors. Got a 50 watt 25 ohm reistor to ground off the input. So no cap and no bedroom attenuation, but it works for a bit of padding. Crammed it all in a Tripp Lite power conditioner box I found on the street. The screwdrive shafts come out the bottom so I will add some big feet so they don't hit the floor and to allow for ventilation. It will be a set and forget kind of thing looks like... I will crank it tomorrow and see about the tone. I suspect it can handle output from my Twin OK and certainly the 50 watt Dumble clone ( which does not really even need this thing, but I will try it just for grins).

Total out-of-pocket costs = zero$
