The version I had with a color display was very slow compared to the cheaper lcd versions, but I haven't tried the model Martin linked. (I'm too impatient for that extra 2-3 seconds per test...) https://www.amazon.com/Mega328-Digital ... 671&sr=1-8 This one is cheaper and will do most of what the other one does, just no zeners or ir decoding. They are all reasonably accurate, I have a better LCR meter and a better transistor tester but usually reach for this one. I once went down the rabbit hole of trying to differentiate the model types and which use knockof chipsets. If i remember correctly, you want the ones with a crystal oscillator. The ones without a crystal are more likely to drift, but it's possible that this is outdated information.

Some solder points look OK, but many are ugly, and might be poor electrical connections. I'd go through and retouch.
You mean , heat all to melting point ?
This may be a dumb question to most of you guys, but what temperature would you set your iron to, to work on this ?

I personally use 700F/370C for Pb-Sn solder. Aaron is suggesting that you re-flow any joints that look like they have not been fully melted in and/or do not have a smooth and shiny appearance like the one below.

Thank you !

I will go through it. For some reason, this unit ( I have played JTM45s in the past ) seems very "stiff" I like tube rectified amps because of the chewy response the usually have, due to sag.
This unit feels very stiff, I wonder why that would be and what, if anything, I can do to change that ?

What's the value of the first ("reservoir") fitler cap?

The info is not visible the way they are installed. Can they be measured in circuit ?

I pulled them out, they are both 32+32uf cans. That is not what is expected, in a original JTM45 you would find a 16+16...
