Jeff Beck Arredondo JCM800?

Post by moonlighter »

I stumbled across these photos again after seeing them for years, but something stuck out to me this time that I had never noticed before. There appears to be what I'm assuming is an Arredondo modified 2203, likely Beck's knowing he used them (JCM800 Series) frequently. Unless it has some other mods, but the extra pot at the inputs would be typical for Arredondo.

looks like a stock 80s 1959 or - more likely - 1987

A Lead Series 1987 makes most sense, agreed.
But in the second photo we see it's not stock, there's a knob replacing one of the high inputs. This is common in Arredondo modded amps, but I'm curious if that is really the case here.

I don't see the knob. rather there may be two jacks? (or just one, which is angled possibly). Beck would often feed both channels with different signals. As you see in the ronnie scott video, he used the dark channel for wet sounds and the bright channel for dry sounds

Zoomed in and sharpened. Still hard to tell, but it seems more apparent it's a second cable with a metallic shell.

I guess he used one input for wet signal (delay/reverb) and another for the dry tone, just like we know he did later at ronnie scotts.
