Obvious Manufacturer srewups
I've gotten a few over the years and it's entertaining to hear about others - I'll start by posting a picture of a transformer - I just received 5 of these and they all have the same problem. Must be a new guy at the plant. What's wrong with this picture?

Hmmm, those wires look long enough to pull it off
Re: Obvious Manufacturer srewups
transformer screws(#8's I think) upside down.
it really is a journey, and you just cant farm out the battle wounds
Re: Obvious Manufacturer srewups
Wires are fine keep looking. imagine you are putting this in your next build.
Edit - yup that's the problem - I will have to remove an reinsert, something I hate doing 'cause it might screw up the potting.

I was a bit cryptic...
I meant that the wires are long enough to install the PT upside down....

That's a great idea - if I can figure out a way to call that a "feature".jelle wrote:I was a bit cryptic...

You won't hurt anything removing the screws, I do it all the time.

Yes, I've read of guys pulling the bell ends to stuff un-used wires inside.

I routinely replace the screws for longer ones depending on the chassis I use.
Re: Obvious Manufacturer srewups
Are you sure that it isn't just the screws are backwards or are the bell ends actually on the wrong ends?

Guys this is a power transformer. If the bells were on the wrong endsStructo wrote:Are you sure that it isn't just the screws are backwards or are the bell ends actually on the wrong ends?
1. there wouldn't be a hole
and
2. the exit wires would have to pass through the core to get out.
