Did Ken Fischer play guitar ???
I have got impression that Ken was a guy who did a lot work to find the right tube combination to each Twreck he made. This means that he had to test each amp with different tube combinations. How did he do it? Did he play guitar himself or did he have a side guitarist testing how his amps sounded. I am only curious to know, there is no other hidden purpose with this question. Harry

Re: Did Ken Fischer play guitar ???
I was at his house a couple times and saw some guitars around.
I remember a tele copy of some sort, and maybe a P90 guitar. I think he might have also had a Weisenborn acoustic slide guitar as he did talk about those too? I think Ken played some rhythm at least, and he seemed to be a believer of demoing amps with cheap guitars albiet with good pickups in them. I guess the theory is if an amp sounds good with a budget guitar it will probably sound even better with a quality guitar. Maybe someone else has actually seen him play?

A friend of mine who saw him at his house a few times a week said he did play. He would call my friend on the phone and say "listem" with a cranked TW amp. He wore big earmuffs. He said it looked kinda funny.

Here, Mr. Fischer talks about the differences in pickups and other guitar stuff and mentions what he had in his personal guitars.

Ken mentioned in a letter to me that he had a telecaster with Lindy Fralin pickups that he loaned out from time to time for friends to record with - It was used on the Novella album "A Liquid Earth" thats mentioned here from time to time...

Ken did play the guitar, but he also had someone who would play so he could voice the amps.
Re: Did Ken Fischer play guitar ???
It would be nice to know who this guitar player was and hear his stories of co developing Twreck amps. The more I get familiar with this forum the more I get interested in to understand Mr. Fisher and his life. It is very nice to have this kind of histories and persons and not only these faceless chinese pcb tube amp factories. Harry

Yes, he played. Yes he had a Tele, a Les paul, Les paul copy by Toki, and Strat 80's and two or three Kramers, One was a Striker, one was Fouse. All had good or great Pickup and pots in them. The Kramer the cheapest one sounded the best of all. To me and Ken. He had one of the Van Halen pickups in it, Just like the way Ed had his in the RED, White and Blk guitar. That was a great tone with Ken's Express and ampeg or Marshall cab.
