They happen to be upwards of 40mA so 3 of those are looking at 120mA activated. Yeek, its a bit. There are probably some lower power relays to be had and I certainly will look around.
Omron has high sensitivity versions of their G5V-2 relays. G5V-2-H1 12VDC has rated current of 12.5mA.

Thank you RG. I would have no problem with dead bugging an IC to the relay board at all. We do stuff like that all day in the lab here.

Also, I just noticed a post just ahead of this one informing me that there are low power relays that fit the Headfirst boards that are down to 12mA per coil. That sounds promising. Where these relays are only for relatively slow tube preamp channel switching, that may be fine. (That's if speed is the actual benefit of higher current coils).

I will definitely look into both these options as they could very well be the difference between a hot coil and a "not-hot" coil, or transformer. After all, I nearly certain that this 20vac secondary was used to power a number of relays and to also power a Digital FX board with a moderately sized processor. I know they can do some work, depending.

Thanks again!

Thank you Lauri, that is really good to know and very much worth looking into!

It begs the question "what are the pro's and con's of low power vs standard but, in my case, which may not be so critical, I may be able to use those and bring my mystery secondary 20vac coil to a far better place!

Thanks,
Best,
