Structo/Tele: Thanks for the clarification on the E cap brand. I may have to score a few of those in the name of "science".

Nice to hear that others have had good experiences with the Sovteks. I was beginning to think that I was a total heathen!
I first used the 5881 WXT in a Ampeg V4 re-hab 3 or 4 years ago. According to Lord Valve they would gracefully stand up to the hellishly high plate voltages in the circuit. He was correct! Good value and good tone to boot. They have become my "go to" output tube for the folks that ask me to fix/maintain their 6L6'ish amps on a budget. Not a single complaint as of yet.
I recall reading somewhere that either LC's or RF's amp tech reported the use of these in their Dumble. Anyone else see/hear that as well?
Unfortunately, they are just a smidge to tall to fit into my D'lite "cab" (a metallic Bogen CHB 35 enclosure).

Otherwise, they would be my tube of choice for this particular build.
I do prefer the NOS 5881 TungSol in my Bassman 5F6A mutation. But...that, among other things, has an all octal preamp and PI which probably makes a big difference.
Rawk on!
