"Drive" on clean channel

Post by tsl602000 »

Are HRM's easier to overdrive on the clean channel than non-HRM's?
I can't overdrive my clean channel with my strat. I've heard various clips of HRM amps that are overdriven with a strat though.

I think it's the other way around...HRM seems to have more clean headroom than non-HRM. However, if you convert to the Bluesmaster PI and presence circuit, you'll get some nice clean breakup. The "standard" Dumble PI is very stiff and clean. The BM PI feels a lot warmer and looser to my ears.

On my D'Lite 44 (6L6) it starts driving the power tubes pretty good when volume and master are above 2:00.
