Selecting the correct choke?

Post by arwokc »

I'm trying to order the last parts for my Connie build, and I don't have a clue what type, size, etc. of choke I should order. Is there a formula for calculating the correct choke?

Thanks,

Andy

Have you seen the aiken article on this yet? It'll give you some guidelines...unless you are wondering what exact choke that wreck used?..in that case, I have no idea! :D

I have a formula for calculating the DC ohm value for the choke if that's any help.

XL = 1 / ( 2 * pi * L * f )

XL = DC ohm value for an inductor
L = Inductor value in Henries
f = frequency

I'm not sure this formula helps you in anyway.
