Anyone ever troubleshoot a Fuchs Verbrator?

Post by peckjed »

Posting in dumble discussion since it’s sort-of a dumbleator lol. I’ve got a Fuchs Verbrator on my pedalboard and it’s not working. The symptom - the signal is VERY weak. I need to turn the master on my ODS up very high to hear it. I’ve tried swapping the 12ax7 and that does not work. My first thought is there’s a bad ground somewhere… but I’m not entirely sure. Any suggestions would be awesome! I’ll send it back to Andy for a checkup Monday if I can’t figure it out this weekend

Have you ruled out your loop/jacks? Did you try running the verbrator in through the front of the amp instead of the loop?

Thus concludes my troubleshooting advice. I will be following this thread, though. I have a verbrator and if anything happened to it I would be pretty bummed out.

Hopefully I can figure something out today or else the answer will be “send it back to Andy for a checkup” - not a bad suggestion. If that is the route I go down I’ll ask about the issue of possible ajd report back either way.

Just to close the loop on this, I got the pedal back from Fuchs and spoke with them. The high voltage chip (that converts 9 volts to 300) wasn't working. They swapped it out with new one, and it worked as it should.
