Bypassing Tone Stack AB763 DR

Post by thisismyname »

I'm thinking of experimenting with no tone stack on the normal channel "wired as a lead channel) of my Deluxe clone so I can get more gain . Instead, I want to use an EQ pedal.
Unless I'm overlooking something, I think I can just go from the plate of the first gain stage directly to the volume pot.
However, I know I'll need a coupling cap. Any suggested values for this circuit?

Try a 2n cap to a1m pot

Before you go to great lengths, you might consider putting a SPST switch in between the tone stack and ground for your boost. Also, do a search for the Raw Control mod. This is basically a 250k bypassable pot between the tone stack and ground which allows the user to dial in the desired amount of "rawness" or lift from ground. As for a coupling cap, 0.022uF would be fine to keep the low end in check.
