#0124 capacitor/resistor combo

Post by Ampnos1 »

Hello, first time post here and new to the world of dumble builds. I recently finished my first build which is a 50w with a mix of layouts #0102 & #0124 and the amp sounds fantastic. I was just curious (I apologize if this has been discussed but I can’t seem to find any info) if someone can explain the purpose for the 220k resistor/250pf cap combo on the power amp and preamp jacks from the #0124 layout?

This is a compensation network when using a Dumbleator to pass some high frequencies.

Ok. Thanks for the replay. I used that combo on my build along with a hall of fame reverb, 2x12 cab with g12-65 speakers and the tones are outstanding. I’ve always been a marshall/fender amp person and decided to try something different. I completely understand the dumble obsession now!!!!

Thank again

did you not find the HOF changed the amp tone though when used straight in the loop without a dumbleator?

I never used a dumbleator just the HOF straight in.

I only noticed the amp is a little brighter with the HOF but with or without it sounds great. The only issue I had was breaking in those g12-65’s. Put them on a varic and really mellowed them out!!!!
