I don't see any advantage in using a tube rectifier for the preamp. Keep it simple!

We have a disconnect here, from my lack of knowledge. I don't know of any separate rectification in the pre-amp. The only rectification I've ever meant is replacing the 5U4 with solid state.

When I said keep the tube pre-amp section, I meant keeping the Tbolt pre-amp section as is to start, modding to use the unused triode for series/parallel, and adding a paraphase inverter.

But... Were you referring to me asking about changing the power section to solid state?

Whatever you choose to build, will it be used manly for home usage as in practice, recording or band practice at home , or will it need to cover live gigs also with a hard hitting drummer and no sound reinforcement?
I don't know that my goal has changed, just how we get there is up to interpretation 😁 Primarily home/garage, but my guitarist plays through 15-22W tubes. No, we don't dime it very often, but when we do the TB doesn't keep up, hence why I'm looking to make a bigger one. And the drummer hits pretty hard.

I would put a preamp out jack on the amp. Simply connect it to the wiper of the tone control. Then you can connect your preamp to any high power power amp, or PA, or sound board.

If I went that route could I plug in to something like this?
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... -amplifier

Thank you everyone who's commented. It's been really helpful.

The YBA 3 Custom Special T291YX would be the one to get 800v 530mA
