No, but we had a good time making fun of oil filled caps over on TGP. I dubbed them Good Seasons™ Oil and Vinegar Caps®.

These types of caps (be they coupling or power supply) and in the case of older gear from the late 50s and previous sound great!

The oil is a great insulator and these caps can tame the high end harshness out of a amp if its root source is not due to oscillation in the first place!

Univox amps from the early to mid 60s used oil type coupling caps and Hammond and early Marshall amps used multi-section oil filled power supply can filters, and even though I have found some of the oil coupling caps in the Univox amps go bad I have never seen a oil filled power supply filter can go bad unless it leaked its oil out.

I really like using these in Fender amps to replace the 4 cent disc coupling cap that is used at the input to the phase inverter section, or the input to the driver in a single ended class A amp.

I have plenty of Jensen PiO caps so I don't really care about testing new oil caps

That reply is just so helpful to the OPs question, I am sure he is glad you took the time to reply!

Oh, I know how he rolls... No worries, it was still an opinion... I asked for it.

Btw... I'm ordering a bunch in the popular Fender restore vein. I'll report back what I find. Then I'll swap some, value for value in a seasoned build and listen for anything. Report that too.

FWIW Mojo has had a collection of oil filled Vitamin T film caps available for over a decade. Made in Brazil, so that adds to the mystique and exotic-ness. Always meant to give 'em a try but never got around to it. So far.

"Vitamin T" a play on Sprague Vitamin Q oil caps popular in the 1960's more or less. Just scored a small collection of Q's so I'll give 'em a go one of these days. Vendors sell them for gold dust prices especially to the hi fi diy'ers. Are they all that and a bag of chips? Hope to find out.
