Need to find or build a 3-button footswitch with 5-pin midi connector

Post by professormudd »

Greetings,

Title says it all. I am looking for a 3-button footswitch to control the PAB, OD, and Mid Boost on a Brown Note D-Lite. I had mistakenly purchased one where the description stated "5 pin din connector" but that configuration does not fit my amp.

I would like to just buy a pedal if I can find one, but if I can't find one I would at least like to give a go at building one.

Any assistance is appreciated.

I do not have a footswitch at all that connects to this amp. I purchased this partial kit a month ago. Since the company is defunct, there is very little information outside of this forum.

Edit: I am just now realizing that you are probably suggesting I mod the amp. That is an option I had not previously considered. I would like to go the path of least effort for this, so if finding a footswitch proves fruitless I am willing to mod the amp.

should be east to make one if you know what's happening at the amp end. Last 3 button one I made, I used a cheap ebay 3 button footswitch and tossed aside everything but the case, which was cheaper than buying a hammond case alone :) I sprayed it black and bought 3 new switches and Leds.

I presume your amp has a 5 pin din socket, you just need to see how it's wired internally and then make the correct connections in the footswitch.

Me too, I make my own. You can cannibalize a MIDI cable, cut off one end, and solder up the footswitch as shown.

Thanks guys.

This is the footswitch I bought. It looks pretty straight forward to modify it.

It looks like I should be able to use a midi cable and wire it directly in there. What do you think?

This is the pedal jack connection from the amp.

Thanks for this. I was able to pull apart the 3-button Marshall footswitch and modify it to work with my amp. And wouldn't ya know? I actually think I started to understand some stuff. Wow. There might be hope for me yet.

Anyway, thanks again.
