Greetings,
I built 2 5e3s, both of which I have added the pre phase inverter master volume modification as laid out on Rob Robinette's site. I notice that while it does significantly reduce volume, it never mutes. I verified the pot sweep on my multimeter. I was wondering if this is typical. If not, do you have any recommendations for what to check?
If this is typical, can you recommend a more effective master volume implementation?
I did try the "Trainwreck style" post phase inverter master volume as described on the same site, and it definitely muted, but there was very little sweep. It was more of a mute dial than anything. It was mute at 0, and crazy loud any higher.

That pre PIMV will not totally kill the sound. The design will not allow total muting. Usually not a problem though.

makes sense that it doesn't totally mute since at minimum there's 56k to ground
