Hi all,,, Okay,,,I've found several great mics under $300
Any thoughts on these for the soundhole on 12 string, single mixing a 6 string, & possibly some vox?
RODE NT2-A & (RM2 clip)
AUDIO TECHNICA AT2050
CAD M179
CAD E300S
Again, many thanks.
Kenny

they're all large diaphragm condensers so will all do pretty good job for what you want.
I've had a pair of the CAD 179's and they both broke after a couple of years I've not been able to fix them unfortunately.
Also stay away from the sound hole when micing acoustic guitars
with a single mic you're better off pointing it at the point the neck joins the body.

Re: Thought On These Microphones for Home Recording
for acoustic guitar i like a small diaphragm condenser pointed at the 12th fret but large diaphragm would work
I've been using something similar to the akg p420 for a number of years on vocals and dig it (unsure of exact model and don't feel like going to the room to look)
