Tweedle Dee Deluxe / preamp tubes?

Post by ChopSauce »

Hi,

I have to order preamp tubes especially for this build and would like to read about any suggestions preferably concerning new tubes, easy to order.

I read some good comments about the Sovtek LPS as a phase inverter tube but I do not even know if that and a JJ/12AX7S in V1 is something you'd recommend for that amp... :?:

I would use a 12AY7 for V1. Switch to a 5751 or 12AX7 only if you want the higher gain.

Thank you very much for your replies... 8)

No information about the preamp tubes used by the man himself, so?

EDIT: went through https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=32227 yet it doesn't help much more.

Hi ChopSauce. I have used the Sovtek LPS as a phase inverter tube on a few dumble style builds and was always pleased with the results. It tends to smooth out the sound a bit.

You can read the reviews here too:
