thanks Martin. Size was an arbitrary decision but I think it works well. It's been an interesting project, as they always are. It's definitely different from my other amps, especially the gain, there is actually a lot of gain available and having a full tone stack etc only on the gain channel is actually a great idea. Leaving the clean on it's own short, pure path.

Lovely tones! Great playing! I'd be happy with an amp that sounded like that for sure!

Thanks for sharing the sound clips!

Did you have a reverb or delay on the clean?

Did you use an OD pedal on the overdrive or is that all the amp?

Jeff, thank you for the compliment.

Yes, a little post verb and delay, same settings for both tones.

No pedals, the amp has a clean channel and a gain channel, both separate inputs on the front hence the need for an AB if you want to switch ..who wouldn't want to ? LOL

There's still plenty more gain available on the gain channel from my settings   that's a good point for me though as it will clean up on the volume control at this setting. I'm really liking the Vintage 30 speaker as well :D

thansk Phil

I've done a crunch file as well but you can only have 5 attachments so I'll post it here.

So gain channel exactly as before settings wise but with both pickups and volume rolled back.

Congrats!
Looks and sounds great Marcus.
Its a great circuit, sweet cleans and nice gain, can be very versatile using guitar controls.
Moved the 2 I built, 2xEl34 and 2x6V6 power. Both times had seller remorse, but needed funds for other builds.
Someday would like to build one with a relay for channel switching, Clean channel 4-way tone switch, reverb and/or fx loop.
Great job building this circuit and expanding and sharing your experience.

I guess that if the inside winding layer is live and the outermost neutral, then there will be some degree of screening, kinda like the capacitor outer foil thing; so that may explain the labelling.
If it was a toroidal, or an air cored inductor, the difference might be significant. But with a regular transformer and the strong radiated field from its core, the benefit may be negligible / theoretical only.

Aaargh....So I have few transformer sets and now do I build a Liverpool or Hot Cat, given I just finished a 2nd gen...?
That is the question :)
