Phase inverter plate resistors.

Post by Steveo »

I didnt have any 82k resistors for my amps PI plate resistors so installed a 91k and a 110k combo. I know the two phases use these resistors to be similar but what would be the effect of the larger resistors on tone? Would they just clip a little more easily? Similar as what a preamp plate resistor would do? Thanks

You'll get a little more gain, and the DC point will move slightly. As far as the PI balance goes 91k and 100k would have been fine.

Try akso lower combos: I went down to 68 kOhm for both with good results.
