Nice demo. 8) I haven't heard Badfinger in a long time. May have to breakout the vinyl when my wife heads out.

I think it would be a great studio amp for anyone and possibly small gig too and so simple.

p.s. can I ask a stupid question? looking at the layout the SS rectification looks as i would expect, on your actual build the diodes seem to be connected to one side of the AC and the CT not both sides with the CT grounded, why?

Just needs single tube reverb and vactrol trem now.....Doh!!!!
That’s what struck me, simple clean design. Adding reverb and tremolo would kind of ruin that, but I wonder how it would take pedals? Aaron? The clip sounds great, btw. Might be a good amp for harp too...

Regarding the rectifier, it looks like a typical FW in the build. Zoom in.

Marcus, the rectifier is standard, just an optical disillusion in the photo, I guess!

Martin, amp does nicely with pedals. Makes the case for tube-screamer-mid-bump in front of edge-of-breakup amp.

Thanks for the compliments, fellers!

I agree Martin, my comment about reverb and trem was a a little joke :) this amp reminded me of my first amp I ever built a 5w Se and how wonderful it sounded, and how much use I got out of it in the studio over a year.

I can see now that the diode that looks like it's connected to the CT is actually connected properly to the other side of the AC.

Aaron, how is the bottom end on this amp? obviously with a close mic 57 you loose a lot of the bottom in the room, what's it like in the room?, my Tweedle Dee has too much bottom but mic's up very well.

Bottom end is... medium. (For comparison, my Trainwreck Rocket builds were "big bottom" girls.) Strangely, my similar 1-watt builds (the Akai amps) have a bigger bass THUMP when you chug chords.
