Try upping the voltage at the plates. Going from 190 to about 220 on my V2 seemed to help considerably, although the fizz is still there.

What method did you use do to raise the voltage there? Do you have an FET simulator resistor?

I recently increased the preamp voltages a little bit and I did think it sounded better but there was too much time between listenings to be sure.

I was just tinkering with the dropping string. I think it was heistl who said that the cleans had more harmonics when V1 was in the 190 range, and I thought that was what I heard, too. More headroom at higher voltage, but more sterile sounding, too.
