Koch powertone 2 triode pentode switch not implemented

Post by Nicale19 »

Good morning Guys,

I tried to contact koch support without any luck.

I buyed this amp recently and noticed switch is not present but pcb is ready(with 2 cuts on the inferior layer, 2 tracks cutted)

What about it?

If you feel you want one then add it if your looking for a lower power output, but any folks including myself don't like the lack of high end bite that you get from running an output stage in Triode set up.

If you only need a bit less volume and want a different feel then you might consider cathode biasing the output stage of the amp as I see you have enough room for the needed big power resistor.

Koch is a dutch company, they are at the NAMM right now, probably less customer support in the timeframe.
You might want to ask with a different e-mail adress along with ser. no. of the amp.
Customer support at Koch is usually good.

But infortunately im too much curious, so i tried anyway.

When i switch from standby to on.. Amp starts to hiss and squeal 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️.

Il switch immediately to standby.. No problem.

I think something in ot is not optimal...
