Hi,
I have an Allen Old Flame I build from a kit a few years ago and it pains me to see it sitting around, but it's not right for me. The clean is pretty good but not anything to set it apart from a Fender and when pushed, the overdrive, I think, is just not real nice. I can remember building it and hearing Dumble-like sounds in my head, though at that time, I had no idea what a Dumble was. I did know who Robben Ford and Larry Carlton were, however

. I have since built an 18 watter from scratch with great results, thanks to the terrific folks at the 18 watt web site. I am, however, still a real rookie with amp building, but I'm pretty good with a nice layout

I think I'm going to transform this amp into a D'lite. Would the trannies be suitable? I believe the power transformer is 340-0-340, 200 ma, 6.3V @5A, 5V@3A. The output is a 4,000 ohm primary with 4 and 8 ohm secondaries, if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for your comments in advance, I truly appreciate you help and ideas.
