My 2nd Gen and 102 is running a Quad of old Blackplates sounds best run a little on the cold side. 38-40mA @ 450V
The new stock 6l6's sound best to me run a little hotter around 45mA @ 450V
KT-66 and 88's I like them around 60% max plate and a bit on the cold side. The Music Man w/34's @ 700V using the JJ's I run them hot around 70% max plate.
So it really depends on the tube,the amp, sound and style you play. I generally start at 70% max plate and work back until I find my sweet spot test monitor then label the amp.
BTW. I personally don't care how Dumble set his amps!

Dang, all of y’alls run’em hot! I run my tubes at about 30mA a piece, that includes screen grid current and all, around 470 VDC on the plates. Maybe that’s why my gigging amp has tubes from a few years ago, still running trouble free.

Good Lord! are they still a glowin?
Years ago I used to run them that cold 32/34 or so. Thats what everyone here was recommending at the time.Just for a change I started running them hotter. If I were able to run my amps a little louder at my gigs I might back it off some
BTW. Here is a quad of old RCA BP's a customer gave me a while back. Came out of his old BF Twin (origional tubes) Bias setting at the time 32mA @450 Tubes are within 5 mA of each other and still test strong. keep it up Gil this is where your headed

Just to report back, with the wall voltage of 236V (reduced with the brown box), I settled on my bias for the 2x6L6 50W at 38.7mV DC
I was checking the manual of the Two Rock Silver Sterling and they recommend bias between 30mV and 32mV (for 100W amp), and not to go above 35mV. It seems like a cold "sterile" choice. Any thoughts?

Without knowing what the plate voltage is you cannot say the tubes are running cold or hot. I suspect the 2-rock manual "knows" what the plate voltage is.
