Hello everybody,
I'm recently working on a three stage clean that was clearly inspired by the Fender Super Reverb ( http://fenderguru.com/wp-content/upload ... _schem.gif ) in terms of voltages and polarizations, but with different voltage dividers.
If it were the Fender it would be:
68k grid stopper
100k 1k5//22u
Fender EQ + Volume
100k 1k5//22u
22n to the voltage divider 3M3//10p and 220k to ground
100k 1k5
I actually modded it to a Dumble-like polarizations:
33kgrid stopper
220k 3k3//4u7
Fender EQ (with 470p treble cap) + Volume
150k 2k2//4u7
22n to the voltage divider 2M2//22p and 220k to ground
100k 1k5
and I whilkst it has less mids than the same preamp with all 100k 1k5, I like the way it takes stomp boxes and how it gently overdrives with my strat.
I would like to know it someone has ever modded a Super Reverb like preamp into something similar, or into a Trainwreck-like preamp with the third stage changed to: 100k 10k directly fed without voltage divider.
Thanks
Roberto

Re: Fender 3 stage clean to Dumble and Trainwreck?
I have a twin with a wreck channel, although I'm using tweaked k50 specs. It works well. Very dynamic and aggressive sounding. The 3m3/150k voltage divider isn't a great idea - its noisy. I prefer the 2rock JM specs but with a gain pot that adjusts the voltage divider (I'm using this on one channel and the k50 on the second channel)

So 1M log pot instead of it, clear, thanks. I've used a 500k log pot in some other builds, with a small pF treble peaker and I liked it, but here I cannot.
