This is only for a future modification possibilities.
Has there ever been a treble or high frequency mod that could act more as a low pass filter as opposed to a set frequency band pass?
Reason I ask is that I read somewhere that a Vox type treble may provide a closer response to this than a Fender type treble control.
I am finishing up on a single channel Fender build and entertain the possibility for a future mod if it was feasible.
I use a handful of Runoffgrooves "tube to FET" conversion pedals that I build to expand the pallet of sounds. They have served me well. The only issue with this is that on Fender type amps the treble or high frequency range can be just a little harsh. Typical TMB Fender treble can certainly serve to minimize that a bit but at the expense of taking out other frequencies that are better left in the response. It would be great to be able to Low Pass the highs as opposed to band pass the treble at a set frequency.
Just thought I'd throw this out there for comment. I've heard Vox treble control may be more to those ends than Fender treble control.
Thank!
Phil

Tone stacks aren’t bandpass filters, rather they can be set to create notch filters.
To get the desired response, have a play with their component values in TSC or Tonestack Kit.

Re: Low pass type treble filter
I like the vox 'cut' control for that. It's easy to fit and it works well as it;'s on the P.I. so just takes high end off the sound you have dialed in with the tone stack.
is that what you were referring to?

Thanks folks,
The Vox cut control sounds like it's probably closer to what I'm looking for.
And it looks fairly simple to impliment. I'll probably try it after I've shedded the amp for a bit.
Thanks!
Phil

pdf64's post has a link to an IOS app called Tonestack Kit, which works on iPhones. It has the top boost calculator as well as AB763 and others, so you can compare circuits and plots

Thanks Tubeswell
Very good info. I imagine you can easily substitute many values of caps and resistors and get a pretty quick and good AB comparison of different values. Or more like ABCDEF & G comparisons'!
Thank you,
Phil D
