183ish with LNFB

Post by Reeltarded »

I destroyed my Bandmaster with this awesome circuit. :)

Tell me about LNFB on high plate amps. Good cap values? Better cap values? Best cap values? Forget about it?

What ya think?

Swapping pres circuit out. Iron's hot. ;) Let me know.

Congrats master of destruction.
Lnfb on high plates is less in your face on pickup attack, smooth drive and also lot of compression when the first volume control is upped.
I never built #183, so I cant tell you if Lnfb has any benefit in that particular circuit.
In general you can tweak the cap: 0,02, listen, than tack another 0.02 across and see if you like that better. 0.047 is standard on #124 and #102.

I personally like 2x10M on each side of a 47n switcheable on 102 type of preamp.

I tend to prefer without lnfb overall but a nice option to have on a switch, especially on the OD side.

Thank you both.

I am sure I will find it useful. Refinement is the ticket with these amps. There is enough gain!
