Totem Pole Load Splitter
I saw this on John Broskie's site and thought it might be worth trying in a guitar amp. It has a gain of 200.

Re: Totem Pole Load Splitter
Seems like a very hi-fi ish design to me. I think it may be talked about in Merlin's HiFi book. Usually that kind of thing is overkill in guitar amps as imbalance and such is good for us guitar players, we like the drive and 2nd harmonics getting added.
BUT that being said, if you build it and it sounds outstanding, you may be onto something

When it comes to cascode stages, a 12AU7 is better than a 12AX7. Or better still a 12DW7, with the 'AU' triode as the transconductance (input) triode, and the 'AX' triode as the other triode. I guess the same thing applies to a totem pole phase inverter
