Not gone but moved to Portland and took a long time to start building again.
This amp is what I'm working on a Cascade preamp via tweed champ to LTP to 6BM8 with VVR.
Client lives in an apartment. He loves my 18 watt lite in a Davis PA head but wants more gain at less vol.
He liked my Hammond Ao44 build so I'm doing another for him with VVR. First time using super tiny turret strips from Apex Jr. New style build but I'm digging how it looks a little like a Tophat guts. Big shout out to Rooster!

Good looking build. Possible audio clips when done?
Tube junkie that aspires to become a tri-state bidirectional buss driver.

Thanks for the replies, I've had good luck with the combined pentode / triode tubes. At the point where I'm using up the organ pulls I have stashed away and using the Russian 6F3P. Robust tube for sure. Started with the Hosa 56 reverb and just kept going. Done 4 different ones. The 6gw8 is a fun tube. Wish I had more. I built up a little Bogen with stock 6gw8 and 6au6 tubes into a crisp 7 pin pentode monster with a Tweed deluxe meets AC 15 flavor. I'm liking happy accidents.

Just got done, minimal problems. Open OT winding..... got lots of those Hammond 6BQ5 trannies.
Got the VVR in last night. Note to self - need insulated to-220 hardware-.
It's basically Da Geezer's 6BM8 output from the little wing connected to a champ / Maz GT preamp in an AO-44 Hammond reverb chassis with VVR thrown in for apartment friendly volume.
I had experimented with switchable global feedback but decided to go without. I used Apex Jr terminal strips and they are SO small. only one wire will pass through them.
Sounds great. Clean up to about 9:00 on the volume. Stil gets stupid loud at full power. 9 watts my gluteal tissue.
Got some crappy phone clips but will see if I can cut them down for a post
