It seems to do everything well, but I really love the crunch rhythm sound and the way Johnny uses it in his music; a very balanced harmonic mix of sweet and crunchy, yum
I've been looking at the schematic with the idea of making a preamp based on this amp and it will be a fair bit of work to pull off, especially the three channel switching thing...
I think Johnny went to a pair of JMP-1 preamps after the 6100 before moving on the the TC Electronics G-System which to my ears doesn't have the same harmonic sweetness that his earlier rig has.
Maybe someone has some experience with the 30th anniversary and could share their thoughts one this amp and possible alternatives to get this tone.
The 6100 owners seems to feel that this is the best Marshall amp ever made.... Thank you for your thoughts and opinions!
