Orange London amp

Post by M Fowler »

Got a nice Orange London Model 125 on the bench with old tubes and bulging filter caps.

Owner wants it looked over before I fire it up.

Can't find a schematic for this amp but see there is the Hustler 125 schematic.

Amp is around 1973 per caps removed.

replaced the two 30uf/450v with 33uf/500v caps. Amp is quiet but the tremolo suchs so do the depth pot (47k log not original pot) and speed pot (2M linear). The Hustler 125 uses 100kL depth pot.
Fixed the foot switch ground wire broke loose. Someone put in a opto roach

More photos of transformers.

Really like the aged orange paint on the chassis. Thanks for sharing the pics.
I believe these had a Cathodyne phase inverter?

Cheers

It is one good sounding amp had a hard time stop playing yesterday.

Put in new pots Speed-3MA and Depth-100kL that brought the tremolo back to life and sounded good.

One heavy combo though.
