FUCHS TRIPLEDRIVE ...

Post by j0k3335 »

a bad new ... and a good one !

You probably remember my topic concerning a Ceriatione Bluesmaster head and the fact that I wish to tweak it ( I really love the clean !!! BUT would like to get a more "classic" smooth
Dumble OD .
I finally understand that with my eyes problems, I will need surgery .

then a little time for my vision to stabilize and finally glasses adapted to see up close (from afar, I see like a lynx :D )
Also for now and probably a few months, impossible for me to see the inscriptions on the components, even to see properly the solders that I can do!
So the tweak of my Bluesmaster ... ...

Come on, now the good news: I had put on sale a PRS Hollowbody (I have a second one) to buy a solidbody.

... and finally I had an exchange proposal for a few $ and ... a FUCHS TRIPLE DRIVE Supreme 100W head !!!
... And that's it: cleans Fender style and an OD Dumble classic style !!!
... but in addition the clean/mean Dumble !!! All with the pedalboard very complete !!!

What's great is that already having my combo Fuchs ODS30, the sounds are in the same Dumble spirit BUT are not exactly the same!
This is probably due to the fact that on one side we have a 100W fixed bias and the other a 20W (with 2x6L6) in cathode bias.
Paradoxically to the volume (home studio) where I use them, the ODS30 sounds more Robben Ford style and the 100W has more clarity on the cleans (100w headroom and Fixed bias?) But a smoother overdrive!

I'll have to see if there are inside the TDS the same settings to fine tune the OD?

For the moment, I begin to get used to the beast and do not change anything!

Then I will see these settings and test other tubes (for now it has TAD which is not bad, the sounds I already like!)
I plugged into a cabinet with an Eminence RWB that I like!

We will see later then the bluesmaster!

For now, I'll play more guitar ... than soldering iron! which is not bad either:

Thanks ANDY !!!

(If there are tricks on this head, tubes and recommended settings: they will obviously be welcome!)

Thanks Phil ( and in French ! great :D )

I planned some years ago to move to a bigger house ... and get health problem then eyes problem ... ...
and so, still in my "very small" house with NO music room and no recording possibilities

I have an old Korg D888 somewhere : I have to see if it still works and ... remember how to use it

... but for now : I'm testing and playing and loving this TDS

I lived in the central and southern areas, Lyon, Dijon, Aubagne, Nice, Clermont-Ferrand, etc. A bit all over a few months here, a few there, loved it!

oh, that's great ! Anyway, it's better than Paris and its suburbs :(

If I could solve my health problems (???), I've planed to move to the south ! Not Nice, it's too expensive
But OR "le Cap d'Agde" OR "Hyeres" : more days of sunshine in the year, the sea, vegetation and a better atmosphere!

( sorry for the 'out of topic', not really Dumble amps here ... )

Promise this is my last deviation from the awesome amp, but I loved clermont-ferrand, the black basalt cathedral was beautiful, the city was great. The people were great. Ca me manque beacoup!

Great to read french here. Been living in Nantes for 21 years and Nice for 6 before moving to Montreal Canada 18 years ago... Going back to Cannes this summer visiting old musician friends and enjoying the french riviera! Cant wait!

Humble and Dumble,

Fred.
